  • Leading and working in community services, Amy recognised first hand that many patients with neurological conditions were missing out on prompt and highly specialist neurological care as they were not able to attend scheduled hospital appointments.

Amy is passionate in improving peoples lives, providing excellent personalised care and believes in equal access to highly specialist, evidence-based neurological care. Considering this, The Neurology Advanced Practice was created.

  • To become the most trusted, respected and personal community provider of highly specialist neurological healthcare services and expertise across Hertfordshire and beyond.

Meet the Founder

Ms Amy Witt BSc HCPC MSc ACP

Amy started her rewarding carer as a Physiotherapist, gaining a first class honours from the University of Hertfordshire. Within her Physiotherapy carer, she gained a wide range of experience across all specialities, before specialising within neurology and neurological rehabilitation.

Wanting to continually progress and better meet the needs of her patients, Amy undertook a masters at the University of West London, to expand her skill set and hold the prestigious title ‘Advanced Clinical Practitioner’. She now holds the advanced skill set of independently prescribing medicines, completing advanced clinical assessments, interpreting and ordering diagnostic investigations and creating holistic clinical management plans to expertly and autonomously manage a range of neurological conditions.

Amy continues to work in the NHS and has extensive knowledge of NHS, private, social and charitable services. Currently Amy is a Neurological Advanced Practitioner at a neurological rehabilitation centre, providing specialist neurological care. Additionally, she has held the role of Clinical Lead for a Community Parkinson’s Disease Service, leading specialist Parkinson’s Disease management. Amy has also held senior operational leadership roles in the NHS, including Service Manager for Adult Community Neurological Services.

Amy frequently delivers evidence-based presentations and workshops for patients, clinicians, corporate organisations and charitable organisations. She is also actively involved in research within neurological rehabilitation, contributing to the development of evidence-based practice, in collaboration with local universities.

Amy is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Health Education England’s (HEE) Centre for Advancing Practice. She is also a member of ACPIN - The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology and The International Parkinson and Movement Disorders Society.

“I can’t thank Amy enough for supporting my wife and I. Living with a neurological condition means life can be harder, but Amy makes things easier. We have optimised my Parkinson’s Disease and secured support for the care I need”
